Metrotren is a suburban rail service that provides tours between Santiago and the city of San Fernando. Metrotren is operated by “Tren Central“, which is a subcompany of “Ferrocarriles del Estado” (EFE), as well as “Terra Sur“ and “Ramal Talca Constitución”. Metrotrén was founded in 1990 and currently unites 24 communes of Santiago, O'Higgins and Maule. With a Metrotren ticket customers have the opportunity to travel for example from Santiago a Rancagua, San Fernando, Curicó, Talca and Linares. From Santiago, the Metrotren trains depart from “Estación Central” and represents a great transportation alternative to the services of bus companies like Tur Bus and Pullman Bus
